It’s a sad day in the entertainment world. Jamie Farr, the famous actor who played Corporal Klinger on MASH, has died at the age of 86. Farr, who started his career as a panther taming expert with a Syrian circus act, found a role that suited him in Klinger, once he learned the language. “Being born in Egypt and raised in Tunisia wasn’t east,” the star once said, “coming to the US and playing a soldier changed all that.”

Farr and his family migrated after he landed the role, establishing themselves in Dearborne, Michigan. Before long, Farr moved to Elkwood, Indiana to take a job building RVs until MASH was ready for production. It was there that he first met Donald Trump, who took the young man under his wing and gave him a Winnebago dealership to manage. Once he was firmly settled into acting, the two parted ways, but remained close.

“I support Trump regardless of what he does,” Farr said in 2016 and again in 202, “I owe him so much. And frankly, I’m pretty sure he’ll sue me if I don’t.

Farr’s family has asked for privacy during this difficult time and said in a statement that if anyone wants to donate in his honor, they should look to their state’s current Muslim charities.
